TONIGHT

Many places dry tonight with a mix of cloud and clear spells. A few light showers will feed into western and northern parts overnight. Chilly with lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, coldest where clear breaks persist. A few mist patches will form too in the light variable breezes.

TOMORROW - Thursday 25th April

Scattered showers in the north and northwest to begin on Thursday, with variable cloud and some limited bright or sunny breaks elsewhere. Becoming mostly cloudy by the afternoon, with showery outbreaks of rain developing, turning heavy across the southwest, and more generally across the southern half of the country later in the day. Drier and sunnier conditions will develop in the north through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in light to moderate northerly or variable breezes.

National Outlook

OUTLOOK: Cooler for the rest of the week with some showery outbreaks of rain.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Cool and clear in northern parts with showery outbreaks of rain elsewhere. Some mist and fog patches too. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 6 degrees in light to moderate variable winds.

FRIDAY: Some bright or sunny spells but overall cloudy with well scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in a light to moderate northeasterly breeze.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Any showers will soon die away with long clear spells following. Some frost will set in. Cold with lowest temperatures of -1 to 3 degrees in light northerly breezes.

THIS WEEKEND: Current indications suggest both days will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered April showers with the likelihood of more general falls of rain moving in off the Atlantic on Sunday. Much of the south and southeast may stay fully dry however. Fairly cool with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Northerly winds will likely veer westerly.
