Continuing windy tonight with showers becoming widespread overnight, some heavy and falling as mix of rain, hail, sleet and snow, the snow mainly in the north and northeast of the country and over hills and mountains also. Lowest temperatures 0 to 4 degrees. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds veering northwesterly overnight, with gales along coasts and strong gales along Atlantic coasts.

Tomorrow

Windy to begin on Sunday, especially in the west and northwest at first, with the strong winds transferring eastwards through the day. Widespread blustery showers, some heavy with a mix of rain, hail, sleet and possibly some snow in the morning will turn mostly to rain and hail by the afternoon and become confined to the west and north of the country. Fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds will reach gale or strong gale force on western and northern coasts. Winds will gradually ease from the west through the afternoon and evening. Afternoon highs of 5 to 8 degrees.
