This afternoon will be mainly dry with sunny spells in Leinster and Munster. It will be cloudier in Connacht and Ulster with a little patchy light rain or drizzle possible. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light to moderate southwest winds.
Tonight will be mainly dry. Clear spells will develop, the best of these in Leinster and Munster. It will be somewhat cloudier in Ulster and Connacht with a little drizzle at times. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees generally with some frost, and between 5 and 8 degrees parts of the west and north. Winds will be mostly light or moderate southwesterly.
Tuesday will be mainly dry with bright or sunny spells, the best of these in Leinster and Munster. It will be somewhat cloudier in Connacht and Ulster. In the evening, some rain and drizzle will develop in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees mostly moderate southerly winds, fresher in the west and northwest.
Overview: A lot of dry weather for a time with high pressure remaining dominant, but turning more unsettled and showery later in the week and into the start of the weekend. It'll be fairly mild in general and becoming relatively very mild through the weekend.
Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with a little rain and drizzle moving into Ulster and Connacht. It'll be dry elsewhere, with a few clear breaks likely further south. Lowest temperatures will range from 4 degrees in the southeast to 9 degrees in the west and northwest. Still breezy generally with moderate to fresh southwest winds, stronger in western and northwestern coastal parts.
Wednesday: There'll be a good lot of cloud in Connacht and Ulster, with a little rain and drizzle early in the day, but that'll generally tend to clear through the morning. Otherwise it'll be dry and there'll be good spells of Spring sunshine in Munster and Leinster. Some bright or sunny spells may develop further north too as the day progresses. Another breezy day with highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty south to southwest winds, stronger once again in coastal parts of the west and northwest.
Wednesday night: It will continue mainly dry on Wednesday night with a mix of cloud and some clear spells. There may be a little patchy light rain and drizzle in northwestern coastal parts and cloud will start to increase from the south overnight, with perhaps a few showers drifting into southern areas. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees with the winds generally decreasing mostly moderate southerly, but will be fresh to strong in western and northwestern coastal parts.
Thursday: There'll be a mix of sunshine and some scattered showers on Thursday. However, it'll become increasingly cloudy from the west through the day, with a band of more persistent rain moving into western parts later. Maximum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southeast winds. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds, easing later.
Thursday night: The band of rain will move further eastwards on Thursday night, before stalling over the country and mainly affecting east Ulster, parts of Leinster and east Munster into Friday morning, with some drier weather to the west and northwest. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees in light to moderate variable breezes.
Friday will be mostly cloudy with rain and drizzle in the east and southeast, slowly moving northwestwards again through the day. So it'll become drier and possibly brighter in the east and south later, but with some scattered showers following into southern areas. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in light to moderate east to southeast winds.
The rain and drizzle will continue to clear to the northwest on Friday night, but the showers will gradually become more widespread from the south, some of them heavy and thundery. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
Saturday will bring fairly widespread showers, some of them heavy and thundery. A few sunny spells are likely too. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees, in mostly moderate, occasionally fresh east to southeast winds.
At this stage it looks like there'll be fewer showers on Sunday with more in the way of sunshine. Relatively very mild by Sunday with highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees, best values in the west, with the lower values along the east coast, in mostly moderate easterly winds.
