TODAY - Wednesday 5th November

Very mild this afternoon with patches of drizzle, along with mist and fog in places too. Generally dull but some sunny spells will occur locally. More persistent rain will arrive into southern counties this evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 or 17 degrees, in just light southeast breezes.

TONIGHT

A band of persistent rain across southern counties will move northwards tonight. While drier weather will follow, showery rain will affect Atlantic counties later too. Areas of mist and fog also. Another mild night with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, in light to moderate southeasterly winds.

TOMORROW - Thursday 6th November

Dull and misty with outbreaks of rain affecting Atlantic counties on Thursday. Some areas of fog here too. Drier and milder across the eastern half of the country with some brighter spells, however misty weather along with scattered falls of rain will arrive here towards evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, in light variable or southerly breezes.

National Outlook

Overview: Changeable weather for the rest of the week and the weekend, with rain at times.

Thursday night: Largely dry with just isolated showers and clear spells at first. Some patchy mist and drizzle too. Cloud and outbreaks of rain will move into the southwest overnight accompanied by moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees, milder towards the east coast.

Friday: Cloud and rain will move northeastwards across the country during Friday and will be followed by sunny spells and scattered showers from the southwest. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, easing and becoming westerly behind the rain.

Friday night: Rain will gradually move northeastwards, becoming confined to Ulster and north Leinster overnight. Elsewhere mainly dry conditions developing, although areas of mist and fog will form. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees in light westerly winds.

Saturday: Outbreaks of rain may linger through much of the day over eastern Ulster but otherwise current guidance suggests a mostly dry and bright day on Saturday, with just isolated showers near Atlantic coasts. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in light west to southwest winds.

Saturday night: Largely dry with clear spells early on in the night before cloud and rain arrive into the west, spreading over much of the western half of the country by morning. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds.

Sunday: Rain will slowly spread eastwards across the country through Sunday with sunny spells and showers following the clearance in the west. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in a light to moderate southerly wind.
