A wet start today with widespread rain and some mist and hill fog. The rain will slowly become confined to Leinster and Ulster through the day. Sunny spells and heavy showers will follow into Connacht and Munster, with potential for isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, warmest in Connacht and Munster in light to moderate southerly winds, fresher in the east.

Early tonight, any lingering rain in the east and northeast will clear and any showers will ease, leaving a mostly dry night with clear spells and isolated showers. Areas of mist and fog will develop in light southerly or variable winds. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees.

Tomorrow morning, mist and fog will slowly clear but may linger on some southern and eastern coasts through the day. Otherwise, it will be a bright day with spells of sunshine and just the odd light shower. Turning cloudier in the west and northwest later in the afternoon with patchy rain developing. Mild with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds, fresher on western coasts.
